He is a sought after speaker delivering inspirational and instructional talks at photo events around the US and guiding Photo-centric vacations in Western Europe and Canada. He also teaches photography Master Classes, primarily in the American West, that are intensive, small groups classes with field instruction during the day, and evening image editing classes to perfect those images captured during the Workshop.

Joe has been part of Sony’s Artisans of Imaging family, is an X-Rite Coloratti, a FotoPro Ambassador, an Ilford Print Master, and holds both Master of Photography and Photographic Craftsman Degrees from the Professional Photographers of America.  Joe’s images and videos have appeared in many advertising campaigns and websites for photo industry

Joe’s Photo-Centric Newsletters, “FotoFriday” and “Monday Morning Coffee”, which contains news, a blog post, gear and book reviews, events and workshops, goes out to over 8,000 readers every week. In addition, Joe’s twice monthly Image Editing Show “The Photography Kitchen” has completed its first 24 Episodes and is available by subscription.

Joe has adopted OM System cameras for their performance, comfort, size and weight - something important for someone who carries his gear all over the world. He has learned that the smaller size is a great benefit, and allows him to create images with stunning sharpness and depth. One of his great joys is to see photographers in his classes have that “Ah- Hah!” moment leading them to capture beautiful images consistently.
