Light is both fleeting and ever-changing - and learning to see and control it is one of the most powerful skills a photographer can develop. In this dynamic field workshop, Shiv Verma will guide participants through the essential concepts of light, exposure, and creative control, helping you move beyond simply recording a scene to intentionally shaping the image. Working on location with horses, riders, and coastal seascapes, participants will explore how different shutter speeds transform motion and mood. Shiv will demonstrate techniques ranging from sharp, action-stopping exposures to expressive long and ultra-long exposures that convey movement, energy, and atmosphere.
Throughout the session, you’ll learn how to read evolving light conditions, select the right exposure strategy, and make deliberate creative choices in the field. Shiv will also cover practical considerations such as stability, filtration, and timing to help you confidently execute both short and extended exposures in real-world conditions.
This workshop is ideal for photographers ready to deepen their understanding of light and expand their creative toolkit for working with motion in natural environments.
