The historic St.Augustine alligator farm provides nearly endless opportunities for photographing wild birds. The park’s alligators provide a safe place for egrets, herons, and many more species to make their homes each year.
Practice makes progress when it comes to photographing birds and wildlife, and the Alligator farm’s raised boardwalks provide the perfect place to see and photograph these beautiful animals in a natural setting. What better way to practice your bird photography than with a professional photography guide at your side? We will have early access to the park in order to photograph the nesting birds at first light.
Photographer Rob Knight will help you dial in the perfect camera settings in the changing light, and he will guide you to find unique compositions to create compelling images.
Gear List: Photographers will need at least a 400mm lens (full frame, or cropped sensor equivalent) or longer to make the most of the opportunities at the Alligator Farm. Tripods are not generally recommended due to the tight spaces on the boardwalks, but a monopod would certainly come in handy.
